War Horse & Other Stories - An Art Installation

NO MAN’S LAND PRINT SERIES:

This series of prints shows a scene from the incredible book where Joey, the war horse, finds himself in no man’s land, trying to escape the noise, the bombs, the gunfire and the darkness. He’s alone and vulnerable but also brave. It’s a powerful story about war, friendships, bravery and humanity from an innocent perspective.

These prints are linocut reduction prints, finished with separate linocut stamps and some Indian ink. Each print is unique and there are 15 in total. The Image above shows how I displayed them at the exhibition.

BOOKSTACKS PRINT SERIES:

I love book stacks! I love rearranging my own bookshelves and I love looking through bookshops discovering new novels. This Series of book stacks are all unique, each one a different colour combination and each stack has a different set of titles. There are 19 unique prints in the series, that’s 133 books and 95 different book titles!

They are linocut reduction prints, each one finished with posca paint pens.

BOOK COLLAGE SERIES:

In this series I have used misprints and perfectly fine prints along with other experimental pieces to create some colourful and fun book collages. This can sometimes take a lot of time and is very fiddly but it is also very fun! It is a great way to use up bits of paper and prints instead of throwing them. If you look closely you may recognise some of the pieces from other prints that are on display.
